The argument between ios and Android has been going on since their availability to general people. In a group of friends if one possess an ios, he/she automatically becomes a Casanova to the rest of all. Again one with android gets sad when the price of his/her latest phone goes down. This age old debate or taunt of android and ios will go on as long as the platform exists.
If you are planning to buy one and is still confused between this two, here I am giving some reasons that would help you to decide which one you would like to prefer. Though I am an android user, I will still try and not to be partial in this case.
- Variation of Devices
There is something for everyone on the Android platform. The sheer variety of Android smartphones from manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, Sony, Motorola, LG, Huawei, ZTE, and others is staggering. You can compare the features and decide which one to get. There are trusted dealers nearby your places from where you can buy and get customer care any time if needed. You can even get some extra offers with these androids like memory card, removable battery and so on. Various kinds of sizes are provided from which you can easily select one.
Whereas, apple has a few sizes to offer. The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, for example, have pretty much most of the same specs with the main difference being screen size and resolution. Same argument goes for apple iPads.
- Affordable Prices
As the android has a larger field than ios, the price differs among the devices. A wide variety of devices with different designs and specs means that Android has something for you at just about any budget. You have the Moto G line, but there’s the Honor 5X, a variety of BLU devices, OnePlus X and OnePlus 2, and even low-cost flagships like the Moto X Pure Edition and Nexus 5X. In contrast, the iPhone and iPad are prohibitively expensive for many, but a budget Android device doesn’t need to cost much more than an old feature phone.
- Getting Best Apps First
Even though the iPhone has a smaller market share, developers still tend to make the best apps for iOS first.
Yes, you can find most of the same popular apps on Android, but they don’t always have the better features and designs. If you care about having the best apps on your phone, you’re better off with iPhone.
You can say ios does a lot of multitasking but in comparison with android it will surely fall behind. Take Samsung as an example, which introduced multi-window long ago, in which you can view multiple apps at once.
Meanwhile, Apple is playing catch-up by adopting similar features, a change that took place in 2015. Most of Apple’s multitasking features also remain limited to the tablet for the time being, it’s fairly likely that even Google’s “stock” version for Android will offer some form of multi-window navigation.
- Fingerprint Sensor
Some Android phone makers like Samsung and HTC have tried adding fingerprint sensors to their phones, but none of them are as useful and accurate as the TouchID sensor on the iPhone.
A few years ago, Apple bought a company called Authentic that makes the best fingerprint sensors for mobile devices. No one else has been able to beat TouchID since.
- Custom ROMs
This is definitely the extreme end of Android customization and you need to exercise a little caution to ensure that you don’t run into trouble. That being said, as long as you can follow a tutorial and your device is supported, the benefits can be enormous.
Well, there’s even ways to install completely different operating systems on some Android devices, such as Ubuntu, Firefox OS, Sailfish, and the list goes on.
I can give you millions of reasons why android is better than ios and another millions of reasons why ios is better than android. Both of the types are competing each other and beating themselves in various fields. I tried to put here some of the reasons that balance both of the kinds.
So, my advice would be if you intend to buy an ios for being the Casanova in the group and you are ready to take the risk of not having many interesting features like android you can sure go for it. But if you are the one who loves to change gadgets frequently then android would be the best one, providing you loads of options to explore!
